Makeover your room today.

There are so many ways to spice up a boring old room. Instead of spending money to buy new room decor, why not do it yourself! These are a few ideas that might come in handy:

1.       Paint your fan blades different colors.
All you need is paint!

2.       Transform your plain pillow covers into something funky.
Draw on with Sharpie markers then use rubbing alcohol over it so the color won’t run.

3.       Transform dollar store glasses into anthropologie-inspired confetti glasses.
Coat the inside of the jar with glue. Sprinkle with sequins and then leave to dry. When dry, spray with shellac spray.

4.       Stencil a plain jar into a vase
Use paint to stencil creative words and designs over a plain jar.

5.       Turn your ordinary Dixie cups into a twinkle light lantern chain.

Make holes at the bottom of the Dixie cups. You can paint them different colors if you like. Then insert your old christmas lights or fairy lights into the bottom of the Dixie cups.

Quick Meals

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and also good fuel for the brain. We tend to always skip on breakfast, giving ourselves excuses like, “I don’t have the time” or “I’m rushing”. But we all know that’s just an excuse to skip on this important meal because we’re all too lazy to wake up slightly earlier to get the preparation done. That is why, today, I’ll be posting this a 35 minute recipe that is simple and delicious, no fuss.

About This Recipe
YIELD:
Serves 4
ACTIVE TIME:
10 minutes
TOTAL TIME:
25 minutes

Ingredients
  • 4 avocados
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 limes
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Chopped cilantro, optional
  • Sliced scallions, optional
  • Sliced chilies, optional
  • Warm flour or corn tortillas
Procedures
  1. 1
Adjust oven rack to middle position and preheat to 450°F.
  1. 2
Cut each avocado in half and remove the pit. Using a spoon, scrape out the center of each halved avocado so that it is large enough to accommodate an egg (about 1 1/2 tablespoons). Squeeze lime juice over the avocados and season with salt, then place on baking sheet. Break an egg into the center of each avocado. Don’t worry if some of the white spills out as long as the yolk is intact.
  1. 3
Bake in the oven until whites are set and yolk is runny, about 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven and garnish with cilantro, scallions, and chilies and serve with tortillas.

So get your bottom out of bed now and you won’t regret it! You can make it for yourself or even for your family and they’ll be looking forward to eating breakfast before you know it!

Superfoods

Eating is part of our daily life because it is a human need. But did you know that eating specific kind of foods actually help with maintaining a healthy brain?  These foods are called ‘superfoods’. According to research, eating these ‘superfoods’ might increase the odds of having a healthy brain for the rest of our lives if added to our daily diet. A few examples of these ‘superfoods’ are salmon, nuts and seeds, multi-grain, avocados and blueberries. Salmon fish is rich in an essential fatty acid which is essential for a functioning brain. This fatty acid is called omega-3 which also contains anti-inflammatory substances. On the other hand, nuts and seeds contain a good source of vitamin E while multi-grain reduces the risk of heart failure. Last but not least, avocados and blueberries are great at promoting blood flow to the brain. Stable blood flow through the brain is a sign of a healthy brain.
